A locally diverse group working together to serve the unique needs of our communities and valued lands by balancing sustainable outdoor recreation, conservation of cultural and natural resources, and economic development opportunities in Southwest Colorado
A Cooperative Alliance with a Shared Vision
Through cooperation, collaboration and aligned action, we form an effective and powerful alliance bringing organizations, residents, area agencies, and other stakeholder groups together with a common vision to preserve our natural resources and the quality of life in our local communities.
Working Together Towards a Resilient Legacy
Together, we work to identify opportunities that:
- Maintain and enhance high-quality outdoor recreation activities while maintaining healthy ecosystems, cultural heritage, thriving wildlife populations, clean water, and vibrant landscapes.
- Balance recreation development and infrastructure with working agricultural lands and the wild open landscapes, while protecting areas that are spatially or temporally sensitive for wildlife species and natural resources of Montezuma and Dolores Counties, as well as surrounding areas.
- Support economic and workforce development opportunities in the outdoors for local residents.
Bringing Local Partners, Residents and Resources Together to Support the Communities and Lands That We Love
Our coalition serves to facilitate a community-driven planning process to develop our shared vision of outdoor recreation and conservation for the future. By uniting stakeholders, sharing resources and coordinating initiatives, we work together to promote sustainable outdoor recreation, conservation, and economic opportunities across the region.
